Bridges

Driving to my grandparent's house, twenty minutes away, my family and I easily pass six bridges. These massive structures of steel and concrete gracefully span the rivers and ravines of the Pittsburgh area, and inspire awe in anyone who looks at them silhouetted solemnly against the sky.

If the union of aesthetic grade and technical knowledge was not enough to draw me to the bridges, the fact that my grandfather, Frank Donatelli, was involved in the design of several key bridges in the Pittsburgh area, certainly solidified my interest in the are of civil engineering.

Billy Joel Words Of Wisdom

I believe I've passed the age
Of consciousness and righteous rage
I found that just surviving was a noble fight
I once believed in causes too
I had my pointless point of view
And life went on no matter who was wrong or right
-Angry Young Man
Until I see a politician that truly does more good than harm this is pretty much my stance. With the electoral college in place, the U.S. citizens truly do not choose their president. I can only vote, I need a lot more power to change something significant.
and are

Rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints
Sinners are much more fun
And only the good die young
-Only the Good Die Young
This is a brilliant way to state the fact that you only live one life, and that there are times when you really shouldn't worry about things too much or be too cautious. Have fun. Life is short, fit as many experiences in as possible.

Remember Charlie
Remember Baker
They left their childhood on every acre
And who was wrong?
And who was right?
It didn't matter in the thick of the fight
-Goodnight Saigon
This song is truly brilliant in expressing the human component of warfare. In reality, every soldier that was killed in Vietnam had a family, friends, and people that cared. It's not the cause of the wars that I necessarily disagree with. It's the fact that so many people have to die to prove some political cause. Also, I never ever see the president on the front line of battle. Honestly, if it is a cause worth fighting for, then pick up your gun and go to the front line. Don't send people to do your work for you while you stay protected back home with all of your luxuries.

You've got your passion
You've got your pride
But don't you know that only fools are satisfied
- Vienna
This passage is all about dreaming big, but understanding that if you strive for the impossible you will stretch yourself as far as you can go. But if you set small goals, you're going to be satisfied more instantly and it won't be for anything truly special.

Now we take our time so nonchalant
We spend our nights so bon vivant
We dress our days in silken robes
The money comes comes the money goes
We know it's all a passing phase
We light our lamps for atmosphere
And hang our hopes on chandeliers
WE're going wrong and gaining weight
WE're sleeping long and far too late
And so it's time to change our ways
I've loved these days
-I've Loved These Days
This is pretty much the coming of age lament for anyone with any sort of money in their twenties. It's pretty much the realization that life can't always be a party, and you know that it is a phase. I do somewhat see this as happening now, and I'm watching people who are learning to accept this reality and others who haven't. It's interesting to watch, yet it is sad sometimes to see people clinging to the "old" ways and ruining lives.

It's all about soul
Cause under the love is a stronger emotion
-All About Soul
I love this line because it really does describe love. There is always that emotion that we thought was love, but then, you wake up one day and you realize that you've never felt that way before and it's stronger than simple commercialized "love".

The Beginning Tends To Be A Good Place To Start

For whatever reason, a fanciful idea struck me. Maybe I should sit and detail my life. It may be mundane, but there are certainly little quirks that add spice and sparkle (dare I say that considering the fact that Ed Cullen ruined that notion)

Regardless, more to come, once ideas happen to come to fruition.
